Ford’s GT90: The Wildest Supercar America Never Built
When you think of Ford, you probably picture Mustangs, guttural V8 engines, and chirpy hot hatchbacks. The Blue Oval are a behemoth in the world of production cars but aren’t often associated with exotic supercars. However, when Ford have turned their mind to building one of those fast machines they aren’t interested in making second place, but in actually taking a damn trophy.
The 48 valve quad cam V10 actually used two Jaguar XJ220 3.5 liter V6 engines and stuck them together to build a new V10. The GT90’s engine generated 720 horsepower from its big capacity, big engine volume enough to make it capable of a claimed top speed of 253mph, or just above Ferrari’s F40 that then represented the top end of the performance scale in Europe.
